About this site

Trading Card Value Checker publishes one thing: the arithmetic for working out what a sports card is worth and whether grading it pays. Turning a run of completed sale prices into one figure worth using, costing a grading submission properly once postage is in it, and setting the graded price against the raw price and that cost. Every calculator runs in the browser on figures the reader types, shows every step, and is free without an account.

Why this site exists

Because the question people actually ask is answered by arithmetic and almost never published as arithmetic. The figures that are published are book values and guide prices, set by somebody else on a schedule of their own, for a card and a condition that is not yours. The honest answer is that a card is worth what one like it just sold for, and that reading a run of those sales properly is a small skill nobody had written down plainly and free.

Who it is for

People in the United States with cards in front of them: somebody clearing out an inherited collection, a collector deciding whether a card is worth submitting, and anybody who has read five completed sales and wants to know which number to believe.

What it does not do

No card prices. This site holds no price data, no book value and no price guide, and publishes no figure for any card, player, set or year. Every number on every page came from the reader.
No appraisals, no valuations and no grade predictions. Nothing here says what a card is worth, what grade it would get, or what anybody should pay for it.
No grader, auction house, marketplace, shop or breaker is named, linked, ranked or recommended, and none pays this site. There is no advertising and no affiliate link anywhere on it.
No investment framing. Nothing here suggests that cards appreciate, that grading is profitable, or that any of this produces income.
