Identify before you search
Football sets issue the same photograph as a base card and as a ladder of parallels, some numbered and some not. Which rung you hold decides the order of magnitude of the answer. Read sales, never listings
Active listings are asking prices and there is no obligation on anybody to meet them. Switching to the completed or sold filter changes what you see, often dramatically, and it is the only view built from transactions. Do it before you read a single number so nothing anchors you.
Match condition, honestly
Compare against sales of cards in the state yours is actually in. Most people rate their own cards high, and the price gap between a sharp card and an average one is wide on anything that is not scarce. Being pessimistic here costs nothing and prevents a card sitting unsold for months.
